SOMACIS is GOING GREEN

Seven years after the achievement of the Certification for the Environment Management System, SOMACIS obtained last years the second renewal and on 20th and 21st May this year has stood the surveillance audit in order to maintain the certification until 2011. The audit has been executed by the TUV Italian team, using a checklist based on the standards and guidelines of the UNI EN ISO 19011:2003.
The rule ISO 14001 allows any organization, having an Environmental Policy, to identify, check and monitor any environmental aspect. The management system schedules phases of planning, execution and control, as well as improvement actions.
Some advantages coming from the adopting of the Environment Management System are:
• increasingly reliance from the stakeholders;
• successful cost management and savings in terms of raw materials and energy exploitation;
• clearness concerning the management and easing when asking for environmental permissions and authorization;
• reduction of the risk of environmental accident.
As always, the surveillance audit had a positive outcome. The inspectors underlined that our management system is well structured and supported by personnel, that is fully conscious of its tasks. They also retained the company Managers strongly motivated and directly involved in the environmental activities. The whole management systems has been reputed strongly marked by continuous improvement, also thanks to the monitoring of the indexes of environmental performances.
