The project ‘High-performance Electronic eMbedded Systems’ (HELMS) is financed by the Italian Ministry of Economic Development (MISE) through the program ‘Horizon 2020 – PON 2014/2020’ (D.M. Giugno 2016) and it is coordinated by Cupersafety (www.cupersafety.it) – an SME, in collaboration with CNR-STIMA (Institute for intelligent industrial systems and technologies for advanced manufacturing – www.stima.cnr.it).
HELMS project aims to develop enhabling technologies for the production of a new generation of printed circuit boards with embedded passive and active components on rigid-flex materials, therefore with a high miniaturization and functionality grade leading to the development of advanced components and systems.
Within the project’s frame of activities Somacis realized the first prototypes (10 layers rigid printed circuit boards) embedding microcapacitors (case 0402, 0.4 x 0.2 x 0.2 mm, inch code 01005).
